The rise of Motorcycles Adventure in Kenya

Motorcycle adventure started to become popular recently but it's proving its worth beyond any reasonable doubts. The biking industry has over the recent past taken a different dimension that was never foreseen.
Some years back a before the rise of boda boda in Kenya, motorbikes were owned by a few institutions like Kenya Power and Lighting company, Posta Kenya, administrative chiefs and veterinary officers.
During Kibaki reign as President of the Republic of Kenya, motorcycles became famous as a means of transport after Kibaki government made it affordable to enter the Kenyan market. Motorcycle business boomed very fast making landlocked villages accessible and creating jobs for jobless citizens.
Today there is no village in Kenya where you can miss a motorcycle whenever you want to move from one point to another. Motorcycles have made every remote village accessible enabling business and interactions than before when one could Trek for minutes even hours before reaching matatu stations.
Beyond the use of motorcycles as a means of transport from day to day, there came people who fall in love with riding. These are the ones who just ride for pleasure and satisfaction. With this there are numerous riding groups online such as the Nduthi Culture, Africa Motorcycle Diaries among several which I will discuss in another article.
Today we have adventure riders who other than riding are interested in showing the world what they do best and how they enjoy doing it. We call them motorcycle adventure riders, they ride for enjoyment, they ride for satisfaction, they show the world the good vibes of riding.
There are riders who have proved that there are no limitations in writing as they have crossed borders of their countries and even crossed to other continents just on two wheels. A good example is Nolally famously known as itchy boots on social media platforms. She has risen all the way from Netherlands to Africa crossing almost all borders of the African continent with a motorcycle.
Today we have several documentaries online on motorbike adventure around the world showing how people have gone beyond riding normal transport bikes to huge superbikes.
The riding culture came with much in handy, making the little known action cameras famous for showcasing adventure recording and capturing moments while on the move.
